Media Literacy Toolkit and News Literacy Toolkit - Wonder Media, in partnership with public library staff from a variety of districts created a usable, accessible, and fun toolkit aimed at 11-14 year olds. Based on an interactive exhibition at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, kids (and teachers) can enjoy these games and activities to develop their media and news literacy skills!

Reading Challenges!
Make reading a game (yes, badges and prizes!) with one of our reading challenges. All challenges can be accessed via the Beanstack program either online or on the Beanstack App.
The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten ongoing challenge is designed to promote reading to newborns, infants, and toddlers and to encourage parent and child bonding through reading. (Plus there are prizes along the way!) Learn more HERE or pop into the library to find out how to sign up!

Each summer LPLD hosts a summer reading program full of engaging programs, challenges, and prizes for all ages. Our 2025 theme, “Color Our World,” encourages you to embrace the beauty of art in all its forms, creating a colorful tapestry of experiences for everyone.
